Information we may collect

CargoTravel.online is designed to work without collecting personal information. You can browse the site and use the cargo calculator without creating an account or telling us who you are.

We may receive information in two ways:

  • Information you choose to give us, such as your name, email address and message when you use the contact form (see section 2).
  • Technical information sent automatically by your browser when you visit any website, such as your IP address and browser type, which may be recorded in server logs (see section 8).

We do not ask for, and you should not send us, sensitive personal information such as payment card details, identity documents or health information.

Contact form submissions

When you send a message through our Contact page, we receive the information you enter:

  • Your name
  • Your email address
  • The category and subject you choose
  • Your message
  • The address of the page the form was sent from

We use this information only to read and reply to your message, and to fix any calculator or website issue you report. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or rent your details.

Depending on how the form is set up, your message is delivered either through a third-party form-handling service or by opening your own email app with the message filled in. In the second case, your message is sent through your email provider, not through this website.

Calculator inputs

The Cargo Shipping Cost Calculator performs all calculations locally in your web browser using JavaScript. This includes the route, package dimensions, quantities, weights, freight method, rates and currency you enter.

Your calculator inputs are not sent to our server, not stored by us, and not shared with anyone. The calculator does not save your inputs in cookies or browser storage. When you close or reload the page, the information you entered is cleared.

The “Print summary” and “Download summary” options create your summary on your own device. Any file you download is saved only where you choose to save it.

Cookies

Cookies are small text files that a website can store in your browser. The CargoTravel.online calculator and contact form do not set cookies.

This website runs on WordPress. WordPress may set essential cookies in limited situations, such as when a site administrator logs in. These are needed for the site to work and are not used to track visitors.

Analytics

CargoTravel.online does not currently use analytics services to track how visitors use the website.

Third-party services

To run this website, we rely on a small number of service providers:

  • Web hosting provider, which stores the website files and serves pages to your browser.
  • Form-handling service, if one is used to deliver contact form messages to us. It processes the details you submit only so the message can reach us.

These providers have their own privacy policies and are responsible for how they handle information. We only share the information needed for them to provide their service, and we do not sell personal information to anyone.

Log data

Like most websites, the server that hosts CargoTravel.online may automatically record basic technical information each time a page is requested. This is known as log data and can include:

  • The page requested and the date and time of the request
  • The referring page, if any

  • Contact messages: kept only as long as needed to respond to you and deal with any follow-up, then deleted.
  • Server log data: kept for a limited period set by our hosting provider for security and maintenance, then deleted automatically.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal information, including the right to:

CargoTravel.online is a general utility for estimating cargo and freight costs and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under the minimum age set by the law where they live.

If you believe a child has sent us personal information through the contact form, please contact us and we will delete it.

Policy updates

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add a new service to the website or if the law changes. When we do, we will change the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page. If a change significantly affects how your information is handled, we will make it clear on this page.
